Tributes to Kevin Tod Smith

Tributes to Xena Warrior PrincessLight a candle for Kevin SmithSeptember 11th remembrance project

was dreamed up and put together by MaryD of The Australian Xena Information Page, EpTalk of EpTalk, Mist of Sword and Staff, Josh Harrison of Suite 101 Hercules and Xena, Aida of Aida's Warrior Princess Site, and myself, Dixie - erstwhile webmaster of Xenite Country and Xena Online Resources. We wished to make a final lasting tribute contribution to the show that touched our hearts and changed our lives. It is a "ring" if you will of these six sites - "a large tribute to a larger than life television show." Many fans feel as we do and will miss the weekly episodes like a friend that no longer comes to call; but the show hasn't died and Xena and Gabrielle will never die as long as those of us who dare to call this show ours live on and keep the memories green and living in our hearts. Then too there is the Oxygen channel for those lucky enough to get it and the video tapes and DVDs.

This is our way of honoring the Xenaverse. In the finest Xenite tradition, we bring you tributes from the world over - sharing a mission and yet being individuals. This "live and let live" philosophy is not new, but it was given new life as we in the Xenaverse made new friends from all walks of life, in every trade, every age group and every income bracket - from a multitude of communities and countries around the globe.

Be sure to browse all of the sites in our Tribute - we all have different tributes and other content. Once you have read through the tributes we have collected from the world over, we invite you to submit your own tribute to the show, the cast, and the crew of Xena Warrior Princess.

Following the tragedy February 15, 2002, tributes were submitted to this site for Kevin Smith, who brought such life and depth to Ares on Xena, the various characters he played on Hercules The Legendary Journeys (Iphicles and Ares for the most part) as well as all the other characters he has portrayed on the stage and screen. Those tributes too are displayed in the hopes that others will know the depth of the grief shared across the globe for this beloved man. Lucy Lawless, Michael Hurst, agent/friend Robert Bruce, and Simon Prast of the Auckland Theater Company have created a trust that will care for Kevin's family. If you would like to read more about this trust, please visit http://www.kevinsmithfoundation.info or, if the information isn't up there yet, please try the Kevin Smith Forum at SF-Fandom.com or the Auckland Theater Company.
