- How are site ratings determined?
- Site ratings are determined solely by people voting for them. If someone thinks enough of the site to come back here and vote for it, there is a rating scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being the lowest rate they can give it and 10 being the highest. The only reason I give any real thought to looking at that rating is that someone did actually think enough of (or not enough of) that site to stop back on this site and rate the site.
- I clicked through on a site then came back later but the hit count didn't reflect it.
- The database records the hits but the hits shown on the pages only change when I rebuild the site. This is done (usually anyway) once a day. Sometimes twice. Occassionally more than that if I'm working on something that I can only see with a rebuild of the site.
- Where do you get these links?
- Same as anyone else - I hit the search engines or follow a link from someone's page. And no, I don't steal link lists from other sites. If I had done that, I'd have lots more links here I assure you.
- How do I submit my site?
- Visit the "Add a Resource" page. There is a link at the top of the page in each category. If I don't have a category that fits your requirements, drop me an email and let me know!
- Why are there 2 description inputs for submitting a site?
- To keep the pages from becoming too heavy on the loading, each link is limited to 500 characters for the description on the category listing. When you click a link under a category, it takes you to a "Detailed View" page for that link. On this page the description may be longer so I provide the second description input for anything extra you'd like to include. The description for the detailed page may be up to 1,000 characters.
- Can I add that cool search box to my pages?
- Sure! Click Here for a text version of the search box code. Just copy it and paste it into your pages. If you want to save the code, you can also right click HERE and choose Save Target As to save the text file.
